EQUINE VETERINARIAN

We provide high quality preventative care, as well as, emergency care for our equine patients, including after hour emergencies. Our clinic is also equipped for certain patients that may need hospitalization for long term treatment and monitoring.

We use personalized vaccination protocols to protect your horses from harmful diseases such as, West Nile Virus, Equine Encephalitis, Rabies, and Potomac Horse Fever.

We also offer individualized equine parasite control programs customized for each horse on your farm. We use fecal egg counts to determine if your horse is a high or low shedder and then tailor a deworming schedule specifically for that individual horse, in order to target the exact parasites that are affecting your horse. There currently are no new deworming drugs available, so we have to use precaution to ensure that we are not creating resistance with the de-wormers that we have available.

In addition, we offer lameness evaluation to isolate and determine if medical or surgical treatment is necessary. Our Veterinarians are able to take digital radiographs to evaluate distal limb lameness, as well.

Other services we provide include reproductive evaluation through palpation and ultrasound technology, wound repair and management.
